Hello everyone,

In May this year, I was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, an aggressive and challenging form of the disease. This news was overwhelming, and I felt lost, scared, and incredibly alone. Facing cancer is something none of us are prepared for, and in those first weeks/months, I struggled to process it all.

Then, I met my McGrath breast care nurses, Jenelle and Carmel. These two remarkable women have been more than just my nurses; they’ve been my lifeline. From the first moment I met them, I felt comforted by their warmth and professionalism. They’ve shown me the kind of care and empathy I could have only hoped for. Whether I’m feeling strong or vulnerable, Jenelle and Carmel are there, with a hug, a reassuring smile, and the answers to questions I didn’t even know I had. They’re available whenever I need them, easing my fears and helping me feel less alone in this journey.

The McGrath Foundation makes it possible for people like Jenelle and Carmel to do their work – and what a difference they have made. I don’t know how I would have navigated these past months without their support, and I want others going through this to have that same lifeline.
