Srinivas Marie Curie

Pink is the colour of care

I’m fundraising to ensure that no one goes through breast cancer without the care of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.

A breast cancer diagnosis can change your life in an instant and the impact can be felt right through your family, friends, and community.

McGrath Breast Care Nurses help individuals and their families affected by breast cancer by providing invaluable physical, psychological, and emotional support from the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment.

Thank you so much for your support.

Event Details

We propose to launch my recent book, Marie Curie, on this occasion. It is written for a common person and has been read by the authorities of the Marie Curie Museums in Warsaw and Paris. Glenn McGrath has been invited to launch the book. The proceeds of the sale of the first hundred copies will be donated to the McGrath Foundation. Born in Poland into a family of moderate means, Marie Curie earned Nobel Prizes in physics and chemistry for her ground-breaking research into radioactivity and radium. She was the first ever woman to win a Nobel Prize. In this fascinating biography, Sydney Srinivas intertwines the science, the scientist and the person. Mother of two young children and bereft of the untimely death of her husband, Pierre, Marie fought sorrow, pain, and loneliness. Snubbed as a foreigner by the Parisian society, she was offered France’s greatest honour. Srinivas’ pilgrimages to the Marie Curie Museums in Warsaw and Paris bring authenticity and feeling to this compassionate work.
