Woo Hoo Chemo is done!

On the 17th Jan 2024  I had my last round of Chemo and my picc line was removed!
I still have a year of immunotherapy to get through and many years of hormone treatment but right now I have CONQUERED this part of the journey, it wasn't easy and I assure you there have been lots of tears, anger and every other emotions you can think of, but I got through! 

I got through because of the love of my husband who held my hand every week, I through because of my children and grandchildren, I got through because of the love of my friends, I got through because of the amazing oncology staff, I got through because of the local district nursing team and I got through because of the support and care of the Breast Care Nurses

Extended Fund Raising

I will be extending my fundraising into 2024!

Items are still available for sale at the Lefty Baker in Barooga NSW and as I will be finishing Chemo soon will be reopening my little home based business "My Pretty Little Stubby Holder" on the 1st Feb 2024 and during 2024 I will be donating $5 from each stubby holder order over $50, so keep me in mind for your wedding, birthday, business etc stubby holders!

I’m fundraising to ensure that no one goes through breast cancer without the care of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.

A breast cancer diagnosis can change your life in an instant and the impact can be felt right through your family, friends, and community.

McGrath Breast Care Nurses help individuals and their families affected by breast cancer by providing invaluable physical, psychological, and emotional support from the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment.

Supporting me to raise funds for this great cause is easy and you can help the McGrath Foundation reach their goal of 250 nurses by 2025, to work towards ensuring no one misses out on care.

Event Details

I was diagnosed with DCIS in July 2023. I underwent a single mastectomy in October, only to find my "pre-cancer" diagnosis that only required surgery, had become invasive and I would require chemo, immunotherapy and hormone treatment. Due to the amazing support of my breast care nurses, I have been able to navigate all the ups and downs that come with a breast cancer diagnosis and now it is my turn to support them & ensure that all my pink sisters have the support they need when they need it.
