A Touch of Pink

It has been a decade since Evelyn Hazzard sadly passed away from Breast Cancer and as such we wanted to honour her legacy as an effective and loyal leader of the NSWSDPA. 

Evelyn's strong leadership reputation as a Deputy Principal in South Western Sydney was renowned through her work at  Eagle Vale High School and Macquarie Fields High School. She was a founding member and President of the NSWSDPA for over a decade and was awarded a Life Membership in 2009.

Evelyn worked tirelessly supporting the needs of her students and was a passionate and strong advocate for public education and the role of Deputy Principals.

Unfortunately, Evelyn lost her battle with breast cancer in January 2014, having led the South Western Sydney team to host the NSWSDPA State Conference in September 2013. 

We believe this is a fitting fundraiser in honour of Evelyn's leadership, as it is 10 years since her passing and also the last time that South Western Sydney hosted this very conference.

We are fundraising to ensure that no one goes through breast cancer without the care of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.

McGrath Breast Care Nurses help individuals and their families affected by breast cancer by providing invaluable physical, psychological, and emotional support from the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment.

NSW Secondary Deputy Principals Association State Conference. Dinner on Thursday night has a theme of " A Touch of Pink" to support the Jane McGrath Foundation in memory of Evelyn Hazzard.
