That dredded word that no one ever wants to hear… cancer!
Unfortunately my family were faced with this news as my mum was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer ?
A regular mammogram check up turned into our worst nightmare. Time went very quickly after, being rushed off for ultrasounds, biopsies and CT scans. Surgery was booked and all seemed to go well. Then came another road block of news that the beast was still there. So this week mum sets off the have a left mastectomy to beat the beast once and for all.
I’ve never met a stronger more positive woman than mum. As a family we are all here to support you and hold your hand through it all. You are my absolute world mum and I know we will get through this ?
Mum is one of the most kind hearted people you will ever meet. We wanted to do something to celebrate mum and her journey so far with this horrible disease. Bryce and I are wanting to give back and raise money towards the McGrath foundation to aid in the support of breast care nurses who have made such a valuable impact on mums journey so far.
Bryce and I will be having a ‘Thanks for the mammories’ party where Bryce will shave his head as a small gesture to honour mum on 16th September. If you are able to donate any spare change to this incredible cause, it would be greatly appreciated!
