Tutankhaten: The Making of the Boy King

By Paul Maskell

We want to do our bit for the McGrath Foundation

Because writing is our passion and we’ve been writing this series of children’s novels since 2016—eight years so far—we plan to hold a book launch of Tutankhaten: The Making of the Boy King in the Atherton Library on the Tablelands. And we are donating a portion of the profits to the McGrath Foundation as we want to do our bit.

But we do not intend to stop there. After the book launch, we intend to conduct a book tour in various libraries on the Tablelands before making our way down the hill to Cains and the Far North Queensland towns and beyond.

We also intend to share this series with the world.

Why are we donating to the McGrath Foundation?

In March 2023 Jann received a phone call from Breast Screen Queensland telling her she had a lump in her right breast. At first, she didn’t believe it as she didn’t feel it, the breast care nurses didn’t feel it, nor did the doctors. The mammogram conducted at Breast Screen Queensland picked it up.

The McGrath Foundation Breast Care Nurses then spoke to her and guided her through her appointment times. They did this to make sure she received all her treatments, and explained her options to her, in a timely manner.

Sometimes, people need a hand up and by supporting us we can work towards the McGrath Foundation's mission to ensure no one experiences breast cancer without the support of a breast care nurse.

Thank you, the McGrath Foundation, for your support. You supported Jann and I when we needed you so now it’s our turn to support you.

Sincerely

Paul Maskell and Jann Drew-Maskell

Pink is the colour of care

I’m fundraising to ensure that no one goes through breast cancer without the care of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.

A breast cancer diagnosis can change your life in an instant and the impact can be felt right through your family, friends, and community.

McGrath Breast Care Nurses help individuals and their families affected by breast cancer by providing invaluable physical, psychological, and emotional support from the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment.

Supporting me to raise funds for this great cause is easy and you can help the McGrath Foundation reach their goal of 250 nurses by 2025, to work towards ensuring no one misses out on care.

Thank you so much for your support.
