3 days until Pink Stumps Day
We have changed the date and we are working on 3rd time lucky. The pitch has been getting prepared, the pink gumnut flowers are out and we are putting new grips on the bats. Fingers crossed the sun comes out and we can get together on Saturday the 25th.Gift of thanks
Today I received a surprise parcel from McGrath foundation, a signed cap and a couple of 2023 bandannas. It reminded me to add a post on the page and get the ball rolling to again gather donations. This event started in 2018, when our daughter (who loved playing cricket) was leaving for uni. It seemed a fitting farewell surrounded by family and friends. During the year prior a close friend had been diagnosed with breast cancer and hearing stories of how valuable the Breast Care Nurse was, further confirmed the reason for hosting a Pink Stumps Day.Pink is the colour of care
This is the 6th year of Alexandra St XI Pink Stumps Day. Again we are fundraising to ensure that no one goes through breast cancer without the care of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.
A breast cancer diagnosis can change your life in an instant and the impact can be felt right through your family, friends, and community.
McGrath Breast Care Nurses help individuals and their families affected by breast cancer by providing invaluable physical, psychological, and emotional support from the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment.
Supporting us to raise funds for this great cause is easy and you can help the McGrath Foundation reach their goal of 250 nurses by 2025, to work towards ensuring no one misses out on care.
